Road Trippin

We took a long Weekend and went up to Page, Arizona
where our son Zach is working and living for the summer.

Our girls enjoying the car trip, with their Books! :)

My Niece, Alarie came along for the ride as well.

Arizona is such a Beautiful State!
You need to see it for yourself, if you haven't!

We surprised Zach! He didn't know we were coming,
though his Girlfriend & her family helped plan it! :)

Though I realized when I got there I'd left my make-up bag at home,
this was all I had in my purse!
Can you say Emergency trip to Wal-mart?! :)

Page is really Beautiful!

Beautiful Scenery!
There is so much to see and do there!

We did some Hiking and Sight Seeing!
Here's John, Erica, Lexi, Kendra & Alarie on top of the World!

We saw Horseshoe Bend in the Colorado River,
It is the most photographed spot in the nation!

And as always when we get together, things get silly!
That's Lexi on the bottom of Erica, Alarie, Kendra & Zach! :)

They had a VHS player & we found this great old movie The Net!
I had told my kids about it before,
and It was fun to watch it together!

We saw the Glen Canyon Dam on Lake Powell

And took the Tour
It's actually very interesting!

The Glen Canyon Dam Bridge

Just us girls on the Dam!

Kendra's Dad Pastors a Church in Page and asked John to lead Worship.
So we had a "Family Band" with John on Keys, John & Kendra singing,
Zach on Guitar and Alarie playing the Djembe!

We spent a Beautiful Sunday Afternoon on Lake Powell!
It was perfect!
It was so nice to get away!
We had a great trip!

The Miracle Worker

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched.
They must be felt with the heart”

My Daughters and I went to see The Miracle Worker at Hale Theater. It's the play based on the Book written about Helen Keller and her teacher, Anne Sullivan.

"We could never learn to be brave and patient if there were only joy in the world."

This is the 3rd play we've see at The Hale. It's an Intimate, local Theater that really puts on a great show! And it was so good! Probably our Favorite!

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens;
but often we look so long at the closed door
that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.”

Deaf and Blind, Helen must learn to communicate and make her way in the world. But in order for her to do that, Anne must first find a way to enter her world and reach her.

"Although the world is full of suffering,
it is full also of the overcoming of it."

My Daughter Erica has been taking American Sign Language in High School and my other daughter, Lexi, will start ASL this year as well.

"I would rather walk with a friend in the dark, than alone in the light."

Erica wants to become a Sign Language Interpreter. She has her life all planned out; after High School she will go to College to get her Interpreter's Degree, then become a Nanny for a family with a hearing impaired child or parent (and travel the world with them!) :) Then when she's ready to settle down and start her own family, she will start Interpreting! Pretty great plan if you ask me!

"Life is a daring adventure, or nothing at all."

Back in Elementary School, Erica had to do a project on a Woman in History, and she chose Hellen Keller. She dressed up as Hellen, played the part & did a great report. Little did we know back then that Sign Language would become such a big part of her life!

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”

We had a great Mother/Daughter night out! And if you ever get the opportunity to see The Miracle Worker, we'd highly recommend that you do! All the captions under my pictures, are quotes by Hellen Keller, so inspiring.

The 4th Of July

I just wanted to show you are finished T-shirts my Daughters and I made for the 4th of July! We painted Fireworks on cheep white T-shirts! They looked really cute!

My girls also made Patriotic Chocolate dipped Strawberries! They just melted White Chocolate, dipped the strawberries in & then rolled the ends in blue sprinkles. It's just the sugar crystal kind of sprinkles, like you would use for Christmas Cookies! They were so good and a big hit at our 4th party!

My girls, always fun and festive, (don't know where they get that from?!) :) got creative with their nails!

I even managed to appear crafty for a day! :) We had a great time with our Family and Hope you had a very Happy and Safe 4th of July as well, celebrating Freedom!
