Our Favorite Christmas Tradition (Santa Clause Is Coming To Town)

Every year of my kid's lives I have gotten their picture taken with Santa. And I put all the pictures in a Christmas photo album. Along with family pictures we've used as our Christmas cards. We've now filled one album, and are close to finishing off the second one.

When my boys were about 13 & 14, they said "How long are we gonna have to get our pictures taken with Santa?" I said "Until you're married, and have a child of your own to take your place on Santa's lap!" Kyle said "I'll be off at collage, and will have to go get my picture taken with Santa and send it to you." I said "that will be my favorite Christmas gift of all!"

Yet, every year when we get our Christmas stuff out, all the kids want to look at those photo albums first. And every time they have a friend over, they can't wait to show off all their Santa Pictures! They're fun to look at, not to mention funny too.

And I wanted to share them with you. So John put them all together in a video for me. (It pays to be married to a computer geek! And I mean that with the utmost affection!) So, turn your volume up on the computer, click play, and enjoy watching my kids grow-up before your eyes (and Santa's of course) And it's never too late to start this tradition with your own kids. You will be so glad you did.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha...that's funny..."until you're married and have kids to take your place on Santa's lap"... LOL!

The pictures are all so fun and cute and funny! Hee hee! I love the music! My son had a Christmas presentation and they all presented a dance to that song! :)

I still can't get over the fact that a pastor's wife is ok about Santa! You rock! :)

Merry Christmas! :)

Thanks Charity, I had to learn (the hard way, of course) that even as a Pastor's wife, the only person I had to please was God. If I tried to do everything "right", or be everything other people thought I should be, I would be miserable.

I grew up believing in Santa Clause, and wanted my kids to have the same great memories. And they say science has proven that kids who are taught to make believe and use their imagination are smarter, happier and healthier. I don't know if it's true or not, but it makes a good argument! ;)

Hey Star :)

It is true...I mean what they say about science. I believe it! I have always called my son Peter Pan! And he never fails to amaze! :)

I think that what distinguishes people from other people...isn't the absence or the presence of money and the sort. I think what distinguishes people is the absence or the presence of imagination. And I truly believe that.

I think that without imagination and make-believe, maybe God would have had a hard time making the universe. I think imagination is something God has a lot of! :)

Thanks for being you.

And I would love to read your thoughts on being a Pastor's wife.

:)

Merry Christmas! I just can't say it enough! Merry Christmas! :)
