Mickey & Minnie Mouse Baby Shower

There is little I like more than a Party with a Theme!
And since we aren't finding out if Baby is a Boy or Girl
We're celebrating the possibility of both with Mickey & Minnie!!
 The Invites;

My girls, excited to become Aunts made T-shirts!
Too Cute!!

Here's the Aunt Squad with their future Niece and/or Nephew(s)!

Katie made the Baby Banner out of onsies!
M.I.C.K.E.Y. M.O.U.S.E.

I laid out Baby Pictures of Kendra & Zach with all the Center Pieces.
So cute!

We used adorable watering cans & added Fresh Flowers.

Guests could "Vote" for a Boy or Girl.
At the end, the Girl can had MANY more votes in it!
We'll see if their right . . .

What's Black & Red, and Dotted all over? ;)

We made our Pasta Salad with Bow Tie Pasta
fitting for Mickey!

And since Minnie Wears a Bow as well,
we used a Bow shaped cookie cutter to make this cute Cheese Platter!

Mickey's legs made out of Fruit via Pinterest!
We did Strawberry Shorts, with Marshmallow Buttons,
Grapes for his legs & Pineapple shoes!

Oreos dipped in white chocolate with red sprinkles,
2 pearls for Mickey's shorts, or more for Minnie's polka dot skirt!
With chocolate "ears"!
(The Mickey Glove Plates I found at Goodwill for .98¢ Love them!)

"Let Them Eat Cake!"

Sticking with the Disney theme, we named our Guess the size of the Belly game:
"Bibbidi Bobbidi Bump!" :)

How many candies does it take to fill a Baby Bottle?

Match the Disney Character with their Parent, or parental figure.
We also played "How Well Do You Know Mommy?"
Asking questions like her Middle Name?, Birthday?, Shoe size, Etc.
Favorite Color, Book, Season?
What's her favorite Disney Movie?
When was her first trip to Disneyland? And more.

Prizes came from the Disney Store;
Minnie T-shirt, Mickey & Minnie Socks, Mugs, with some Bath & Body Works thrown in!
I took red gift bags & added the dots!
I wanted black tissue paper, but could only find white.

Finish it off with Fun Party Favors!

It was such a great day, and a fun Party!
Thank you so much to everyone who came
to shower my first Grand Baby!
We can't wait to meet her or him!

Summer Reads For Everyone!

Weather you are Hitting the Beach, Sunning by the Pool, Camping in the Pines, Sitting Lake Side, Road Tripping, or staying in Air Conditioning this Summer, we all could use a good Summer Read! Books take us places we've never been, and let us look at the world through eyes not our own. I'll share with you some of what I've been Reading this Summer, and hopefully you find something that perks your interest and makes you want to pick up a Book!

For the Young Adult Reader, who loves a good romance,
Everything Everything by: Nicola Yoon
My Daughters and I all loved this Book & then saw the Movie together!
It's beautifully descriptive with an unusual story line.

Adventure with a Twist
Leaving Time by: Jodi Picoult
If you like Books that aren't just what they seem,
or simply love Elephants. :)

If you're a Non-Fiction History Buff,
or just love Books about Women's Friendships
The Astronaut Wives Club by: Lily Koppel
is for you.

Long to spend your summer on the East Coast?
Or like to explore Family Dynamics?
Body Surfing by; Anita Shreve
will let you do both!

Since I am about to become a "Glam-ma" for the first time,
and my son is a Park Ranger;
Our Great Big Backyard by: Laura Bush and Jenna Bush Hager
Inspires kids to explore our National Parks!

My next Read is Christian Fiction
The Blue Bottle Club by: Penelope J. Stokes
A look back through time,
exploring women's lives.

This is not your light Summer Read.
Everything I Never Told You by: Celeste Ng
Is a darker look inside a complicated Family
set in the 70's, but relevant today

Well, I Hope you see something that perks your interest and makes you want to pick up a Book or two! If so, tell me; what are you Reading this Summer? And where are you taking your Books to?
