The 12 Days Of Christmas Movies: Sleepless In Seattle

Okay, it's the last installment of The 12 Days Of Christmas Movies! :( I will miss it. I saved the best for last! This one is one of my favorite movies, not just of Christmas, but of all time! It's Sleepless In Seattle.

In this movie, Tom Hanks' character looses his wife. A year or so latter, his son calls a radio station on Christmas Eve. & tells the talk show host that his Christmas wish is for a new wife for his dad. Well millions of women hear this & write to him, wanting to fulfill his sons wish. :) Let the fun begin!

Doctor Marcia Fieldstone
: People who truly loved once are far more likely to love again. Sam, do you think there's someone out there you could love as much as your wife?
Sam Baldwin: Well, Dr. Marcia Fieldstone, that's hard to imagine.
Doctor Marcia Fieldstone: What are you going to do?
Sam Baldwin: Well, I'm gonna get out of bed every morning... breathe in and out all day long. Then, after a while I won't have to remind myself to get out of bed every morning and breathe in and out... and, then after a while, I won't have to think about how I had it great and perfect for a while.
Doctor Marcia Fieldstone: Tell me what was so special about your wife?
Sam Baldwin: Well, how long is your program? Well, it was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were supposed to be together... and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her. It was like coming home... only to no home I'd ever known... I was just taking her hand to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like... magic.

"When you're attracted to someone,
it just means that your subconscious
is attracted to their subconscious,
subconsciously.
So what we think of as fate is just two neuroses
knowing that they are a perfect match."

Of course I cried. I'm a crier! I love this movie! I watch it often. The soundtrack of Sleepless In Seattle is awesome too! Get it if you don't have it. You wont regret it. Especially if you love some of the old classic, romantic songs. And a few years ago, I got to travel to some of the places featured in my favorite movie . . .

Tom Hanks in front of a fish market in Pikes Place Market in Seattle.

Me, in front of the same fish market!

Meg Ryan on top of the Empire State Building in New York City!
Waiting to meet the man of her dreams.

Me, on top of the Empire State Building!

I bought an ornament of the Empire State Building
the year I went to New York!

This movie not only celebrates Christmas, but also New Years & Valentines Day! So this is a great time to watch it! And I hope this New Year is filled with Love & Laughter for you and everyone you love!

This is a great write up of one of my favourite films.I used to adore Meg Ryan in her early 90's heyday and I often post about her films on my blog.
I hope you have a happy new year.
